Spring - Ice and Fire

Do you have what it takes to stay warm when it's cold and cold when it's hot - this is a term of two halves!

We begin our journey investigating what life is like in the polar regions. We explore the continents of the world and research the animals and humans that live in the coldest places on the earth. We use many rich literary texts to inspire our own writing of stories and poems. We think about what it takes to keep warm and in art we are inspired by the most amazing natural light show on our planet.

We then travel back in time to a momentous day in 1666 London as we warm ourselves up from our polar experiences. We use the events of that day to inspire our writing and our construction. Modern day firefighters help to bring us back to date and consider how to stay safe in our modern world.
