Spring - Ice and Fire

Do you have what it takes to stay warm when it's cold and cold when it's hot? This is a term of two halves!

We begin our journey investigating what life is like in the polar regions. We explore the continents of the world and research the animals and humans that live in the coldest places on Earth. We use many rich texts to inspire our own writing of stories and poems. We think about what it takes to keep warm in science. In art, we are inspired by the most amazing natural light show on our planet.

We then travel back in time to a momentous day in 1666 London, as we warm ourselves up from our polar experiences. We use the events of that day to inspire our writing and our construction. We also consider how to stay safe with fire in our modern world.
