This term, Year 5 are focusing on the environment as part of their Let's Make a Difference' topic. Last Friday Tim Loughton, MP for East Worthing and Shoreham, visited our Year 5 children after they had written letters to him expressing their concern over the poor air quality around the outside of our school. Jubilee-themed Art Trail in Broadwater

To celebrate the Queen's Jubilee, all Broadwater pupils would like to invite you on a visual journey of art and creativity. Our Jubilee-themed Art trail runs throughout Broadwater High-Street, with a selection of shop windows displaying artwork ranging from Reception to Year 6. The trail will be up from 10th May-10th June. The shops taking part this year are: Broadwater Green post office, Starbucks, Co-op, Turners Pies, Brio Express, Broadwater Sports and St Barnabas Charity -
Yr 6 have some interesting visitors!

Year 6 really enjoyed an animal handling session to support our learning about animal classification this term. We learnt so many amazing facts from Jess, our animal handler, and got to hold a giant African land snail, a giant millepede and a corn snake. We also got to see a tarantula, a tree frog and some very cute gerbils! As you can see from our faces, it was a memorable experience! -
Year 2 Worthing Beach trip

Year 2 had a great trip to Worthing beach. The children enjoyed many activities including making beach art, sketching the pier, listening to a safety talk from the Beach Patrol then explored the pier. They finished the trip by discovering crabs, tiny fish, sea anemones and crayfish in the rock pools. It was a great day. -
Walk to School Week (16-20 May)

We are looking forward once again to taking part in the 'Walk to School Week' from 16th – 20th May. This nationwide event is organised by the walking charity ‘Living Streets’. The theme of this year’s event is ‘#Power Up’ and will engage pupils through video game style design, encouraging all our children to travel to school in a sustainable way by walking, scooting, cycling or Park and Stride every day of the week -

During the Autumn Term, we did a lot of work with the charity Sustrans. They are the charity that promote walking and cycling to school. They work with local authority partners to improve the area around schools by reducing traffic speed and volume and making safer spaces for active travel. In Autumn 2021, Sustrans were commissioned to work with schools in West Sussex on a short-term project to open up discussion about active and sustainable travel to school
