Where better to be on a summer's day than on the beach? We start our topic exploring our local seaside and learn about our town's rich history. We also look at our place in the wider world thinking about its oceans, the shoreline and the features of the beach. A wealth of amazing seaside literature will introduce us to Mr and Mrs Grinling, inspire us to write, help us to make his lunch and follow one of Mrs Grinling's own recipes. The amazing sights and sounds of the seaside will inspire our science, art and design including discussion of topical issues such as threats to our oceans.
