In year 5, the children have worked hard to design and make canopic jars. They ensured they smoothed the modroc and carefully made the features for the head, depending on the Egyptian god they were depicting. Next, they painted them in authentic colours and finally, added the detail using black marker pen. -

Year 3 had a fantastic day weaving. We learnt about African artists and used different materials to weave an African- inspired pattern. -
World Science Day

On Monday 11th November, it was World Science Day. Lots of the children took part in a range of science activities at home to mark this. This included making structures from spaghetti and marshmallows, considering which shapes made the most solid structures. -

Today, Year 5 took on the exciting challenge of designing and building their own floodproof houses using recycled materials. With lots of creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving, they managed to successfully beat the flood! -

Year 5 took a virtual flight to Egypt to kickstart their new topic! Once there, the children took part in an archaeological dig where they uncovered ancient Egyptian artefacts and inferred what they might teach us about ancient Egyptian life.
