Violin
I was educated in Worthing and studied violin and piano at the Royal Academy of Music and then at Middlesex Polytechnic.
I began teaching class music in a secondary school before taking up a peripatetic violin teaching role in local schools.
I am passionate about teaching young children to enjoy music and over 30 years I have taught thousands of children to enjoy music through the violin, piano, and recorder. I also particularly enjoy mentoring new teachers, directing ensembles in music centres and teaching music within a whole class instrumental setting. Together with a wide variety of concerts, management roles and performing opportunities, including several tours abroad I have had a varied, challenging and hugely enjoyable career so far.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and two grown up daughters, keeping fit, and growing vegetables on my allotment. I play professionally with local orchestras and in a string quartet for weddings, parties and corporate events. I am also a trustee of Worthing Symphony Orchestra.
I have taught at Broadwater C of E School for over 20 years and presently see 25 children in group and individual lessons each week plus the two year 4 classes. My daughters attended the school and I thoroughly enjoy being an included member of the Broadwater family.
