Year Five - Science

Mr Shaw, who teaches science at St Andrew’s C of E High School, came and taught Year 5 a lesson about friction and water resistance. The children looked at how different surfaces effect the movement of objects and measured the force of friction using newton meters. They also shaped Play-Doh and dropped it into water-filled measuring cylinders. They timed how long it took to hit the bottom in order to measure the effect of water resistance.
