Get involved in the Taste Kitchen Challenge

Well done to all the children who submitted entries for the Great Taste Kitchen Challenge. The process required a lot of thought, as the children had to be creative and design a recipe inspired by Team GB. We were really impressed with all the entries. The recipes sounded delicious, the food was beautifully presented, and the design sheets were completed to a high standard. The entries have now been sent to the Get Set to Eat Fresh judges and all the children who took part have been put into Gold Book.
A special well done to the following who each submitted great reasons as to how their recipe was inspired by team GB.
Chloe for her Vegetable Crunch Stir-Fry
Theo for his Spicy Sweet Potato and Carrot soup
Poppy for her Kids Coleslaw
Ruby for her GBe Fruitful

Healthy Schools

We are very pleased to inform you that we have received a Silver Healthy School Rating Award. This new award has been designed by the Department for Education to recognise schools’ contributions to supporting pupils’ health and wellbeing. This award celebrates the positive actions taken at Broadwater to support healthy eating and physical activity.

Thank you again to those in years 2, 4 and 6 that completed the Active Lives survey last term. The data from that survey supported this award.

Fantastic New Sports Equipment

We were really pleased to receive £500 worth of new sports equipment which will be put to good use in PE lessons. Last term, children in years 2, 4 and 6 were asked to complete an Active Lives Survey run by Sport England to look at the types of activity children take part in. Due to the very high participation figures Sport England allowed us to choose this fantastic equipment which includes; 2 lacrosse sets, 2 bucket blast sets and 2 giant catch nets.  Thank you so much to everyone who took part in the survey.
